Gold Stamping FU & Silver Stamping BAT POSTCARD
GOLD STAMPING “FU” POSTCARD
The talisman-like symbols featured on this gold foil-stamped postcard are inspired by traditional motifs found in the Hong Kong Tung Shing (Chinese Almanac). For many Hong Kong families, the Tung Shing served as a guide to everyday life, containing information on seasonal customs, auspicious dates, taboos, and folk beliefs, accompanying generations as part of daily culture.
SILVER STAMPING “BAT” POSTCARD
These “Fu” symbols carry meanings of blessings, protection, and peace. Their distinctive typography and layouts also form a unique visual language within Hong Kong folk culture. Through gold foil stamping, we reinterpret these traditional symbols as a tribute to Hong Kong’s gradually disappearing folk printing culture.
